Modi greets Russia on its national day


New Delhi, June 12 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday greeted Russia on 'Day of Russia'.

Extending his good wishes on the 'Day of Russia', Modi said in a message: "India and Russia enjoy unique and time-tested relations, characterised by strong goodwill between our people."

"It is my firm belief that the special and privileged strategic partnership between our nations will acquire greater relevance in the days ahead," he added.

"Once again my good wishes on 'Day of Russia'," the prime minister said.

June 12 marks the day when Russia declared its secession from the Soviet Union. The day is being celebrated since 1992.
