Chandigarh, June 12 (IANS): Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday expressed shock and grief over the death of Nek Chand, the creator of the iconic Rock Garden in Chandigarh.
In a condolence message, Khattar said Nek Chand would be long remembered for his creativity and artistic works.
He conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved family and prayed that the departed soul might rest in peace.
Nek Chand, 90, died at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) here on Thursday, his family members said.
He was suffering from diabetes, hypertension and cancer, and was hospitalised for the past few days.
Nek Chand's body will be kept at the Rock Garden on Friday for the people to pay their tributes and will be cremated on Saturday in Chandigarh, the family said.
