UAE, Apr 24: Gulf Medical College will be hosting the UAE Medical Students Conference on April 24 and April 25 in Ajman Kempinski Hotel. This is the 2nd Annual Conference for the medical students across the UAE.

Over 500 medical students from all colleges in the UAE are expected to participate in this prestigious event, stated the release.

His Highness Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman will grace the special presentation ceremony to be held on the April 24 at Ajman Kempinski Hotel to mark the inauguration of the conference. His Highness will present mementos to deans of all medical colleges on the occasion.

His Excellency Humaid Mohamed Obaid Al Qattami Minister of Health UAE will be the guest of honour and deliver a special address to the students.

Leading experts and dignitaries like His Excellency Dr Ali Shakar, Under Secretary Ministry of Health, His Excellency Dr Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazroui, Chairman Abu Dhabi Health Authority, Professor Hossam Hamdy, Vice Chancellor of Medical Schools and Dean College of Medicine University of Sharjah, Prof Muscat Baron, Clinical Dean Dubai medical College and Dr Robert Thurer, Chief Academic Officer Harward Medical School Dubai Center will deliver special talks during the conference.

Thumbay Moideen President of Gulf Medical College said that it is indeed a pleasure to host such an important conference, which is in tune with the aim of encouraging the students to display their scientific talents

The Conference aims at providing an excellent opportunity for the medical students to meet and present a variety of medical topics in the form of 27 Oral Presentations and 30 Poster Presentations.

The Conference will then be followed by four workshops at Gulf Medical College on Thursday, April 26 which will include themes like Basic Life Support, Basic Surgical Techniques, Research Methodology and Evidence Based Medicine.

Gulf Medical College has been in the forefront of organizing many a scientific events over the last 8 years. As a centre of higher education in the UAE, the college has initiated many student centred programs which enabled the students to exemplify in the academics as well as display their skills in scientific events, said Prof Gita Ashok Raj, Dean Gulf Medical College Ajman.
