Five injured in Kashmir road accident


Jammu, Jun 15 (IANS): Five people were injured on Monday in a road accident in Jammu and Kashmir's mountainous Doda district, police said. of Jammu region.

A senior police officer said that the accident happened when a van on way to Gandoh town of Doda district went out of the driver's control at Assar and dropped into a deep gorge on Monday evening.

"The injured have been shifted to hospital for treatment," the officer said.

The hilly Doda district of Jammu region has been in news for the last many years for road accidents due to treacherous mountain roads and overloading by unscrupulous private transport operators.
