Udupi, Apr 26:  Compensations have been distributed to nine landowners at Udupi for surrendering their land to widening the Udupi-Manipal road here on Wednesday April 25.

Speaking on the occasion, deputy commissioner V Ponnuraj said that Rs 2.40 crore has been given as compensation to land owners so far, out of which nine received compensation of Rs 52 lac.

He further said that out of 69 survey numbers 23 survey numbers have received the payment.

MLA K Raghupati Bhat and assistant commissioner Prabhakar Sharma were present.
