Mangalore, Apr 26: In view of the violation of language policy by several schools in the state, deputy director for public instruction Shankarappa has asked block education officer Walter D’Mello to compile a handbook with details pertaining to each school.

Without a valid list of schools that have violated the language policy, parents have been unsure of the credibility of the schools their children were studying in. The officials too were unable to help the parents.

Once the handbook is compiled, the parents can seek information from the DDPI regarding the schools which have violated the policy.

Sometime ago, the government had decided to close down recognized schools that were using English as the medium of instruction instead of Kannada, thus violating the state language policy.
