Mangalore, Apr 26: Close on the heels of the district administration’s stringent rules on use of domestic cylinders, Food and Civil Supplies inspector Chinnappa Gowda raided the house of one Abdul Aziz and seized 16 cylinders.

The cylinders, eight of which were small sized, had been converted from domestic to commercial cylinders.  Abdul was filling them illegally and supplying them.

The raid took place on Thursday April 26 at 5.30 am at a residential area in Emmekere near Mangaladevi here. The total value of the seized cylinders is said to be Rs 20,000.

Civil Supplies inspector Moosa Kunhi, HCPL sales officer Vinod Akkal, Ratnakar Naik, deputy director of Civil Supplies, Venkateshan, assistant manager of Bharat Petroleum and N C George sales officer Indian Oil were present during the raid.
