Pakistan Rangers arrest Sunni Tehreek workers


Islamabad, June 18 (IANS): Some leaders and workers of the religious-political group Sunni Tehreek (ST) were arrested by Pakistan Rangers during a raid at the group's headquarters in Karachi, media reported on Thursday.

The raid was conducted on Wednesday night, Geo News reported.

Shahid Ghori, a central leader of the group, confirmed the arrests. "They have been taken into custody under suspicions of involvement in illegal activities," he said.

A religious programme connected to Ramadan was in progress when the raid was conducted.
