Panaji, Apr 28: The International Film Festival of Short Films, Documentaries and Animation opened in the Deenanath Mangeshkar auditorium of the Kala Academy here on Saturday.

It was inaugurated by Goa's chief secretary J P Singh in the august presence of Bollywood actor Isha Koppikar, film-maker Punkaj Parashar and chief producer of films division Kuldeep Sinha.
The festival has been categorized into 3 sections, namely, short films, documentaries and animation. Besides national and international award-winning short films and documentaries, there are about 23 films made by Goan film-makers which are likely to be screened in the festival.
The five-day festival is jointly organized by the films division in collaboration with Goa Kala Academy and information and publicity department, government of Goa.
