Bangalore, Apr, 30: The verifications of human trafficking racket are being felt across Karna-taka also. Police from Delhi are reported to have spread their net for Karnataka's kataras. According to information available so far, three politicians are learnt to have figured in the racket. Out of them, one is a sitting MP and the other two former MPs, it is said.
Agency reports have said that a Police team from Andhra Pradesh has reached Bangalore in search of one Rashid who was a human trafficking agent. It is not clear whether the politicians of the State have trafficked humans through Rashid.
The involvement of the politicians of Karnataka is prima facie evident during investigations after the arrest of Katara and leaders of Telangana Rashtreeya Samithi as well as other agents. In that backdrop, Police from Delhi have started collecting the related details. They are yet to come to the State.
One of the MPs suspected to be involved in the scandal, belongs to a national party. Among the ex-MPs, one has reportedly helped in smuggling boys and girls out of the country from Delhi. Police from the capital are now collecting details about the foreign tours of the MPs involved.
According to highly placed sources in the Police Department, a former MP from the State has received lakhs of rupees from educational institutions on the pretext of getting them visas for travelling abroad.
Another former MP is alleged to have sent boys and girls to foreign countries for 'agreement marriage.' It is learnt that the MP aims to send the youth to affluent countries such as UK, America, Spain and others. The payment for sending one boy or girl to one of these countries will fetch Rs. 8 to Rs. 10 lakh. Babu Bhai Katara, the now suspended BJP MP who has been arrested has confessed to Delhi Police that he had received Rs. 8 lakh in each case.
