Hyundai's Elite i20 reaches 100,000 sales mark


New Delhi, June 22 (IANS): Automobile manufacturer Hyundai Motor India on Monday announced that its premium hatchback "Elite i20" reached a cumulative sales mark of 100,000 units in India.

"We are overwhelmed with the customers response by receiving over 100,000 sales for the Elite i20 in 11 months," said B.S. Seo, managing director and chief executive, Hyundai Motor India.

The company had launched the second generation of i20 in India on August 11, 2014.

The company described the frugal diesel and petrol engines in the Elite i20 as a mark of engineering excellence, which also incorporate new technologies.

The "1.2 Dual VTVT Kappa" petrol engine offers a mileage of 18.60 km per litre, whereas, the "1.4 CRDi" diesel engine provides a 22.54 km per litre mileage.
