- Karnataka does not need Gujarat as a model
- Attempts to communalize the state will be foiled
Bangalore, May 4: MLA and Karnataka Pradesh Youth Congress president Dinesh Gundu Rao on Thursday said that Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and the Bangalore district in-charge ministers were acting as agents for land developers by auctioning encroached government land.
Speaking to reporters, he said that the chief minister, his family members, industries minister Katta Subramanya Naidu and health minister R Ashok were “looting” government land in the name of auctioning it. “They are nothing but agents of land developers. Instead of auctioning the encroached land, they can hand it over to the poor farmers. This clearly indicates that they are looting money,” he said.
He also denied that the Congress party was interested in joining hands with JD (S) and to form an alternative government if the latter breaks its ties with the BJP. “We are ready to go in for polls, which is the only option left. The present government will come down on its own as both the JD (S) and BJP are blackmailing each other. Even the Chief Minister is not aware of the policies his deputy will be implementing. In such a situation, the government is bound to collapse,” he said.
He also took strong exception to BJP leader LK Advani’s recent statement that his party wanted to develop Karnataka on the lines of Gujarat.
“BJP’s ambition to communalize Karnataka will be opposed... we will not allow them to go ahead with their hidden agenda,” he added.
Youth Convention
The Karnataka Pradesh Youth Congress Committee will organise a Youth Congress Convention ‘Yuva Chaitanya’ on May 7 at Tumkur. National Youth Congress leaders and senior state Congress leaders will participate in the convention.
