Mangalore, May 3: Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is celebrating 50 years of its inception in India this year. Various activities have been organized to commemorate this occasion, said Dr Denzil Lobo of Fr Muller hospital here.
He was speaking at the press conference held at press club on Thursday May 3. Alcoholics Anonymous Inter Group, DK district will hold a meeting on Sunday May 6 at Shantikiran at Bajjodi commemorate this occasion.
World Health Organization has declared alcohol addiction as decease. AA is more effective in bringing back people those who are addicted to alcohol to a sober life. AA inter group of Dakshina Kannada too has proved to be effective in this mission, he said.
No fees is collected from the persons who attend the meetings of AA. Those who are addicted to alcohol would share their experiences with other which inspires the new-comers to stay away from alcohol, Dr Denzil Lobo informed.
