Sony launches Xperia Z3 smartphone


New Delhi, June 26 (IANS): Consumer electronics major Sony on Friday announced the expansion of its Xperia range of smartphones with the launch of the Z3 smartphone priced at Rs.55,990.

The premium smartphone from Sony's stable comes packed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 815 64-bit processor, and 20.7-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front camera with its signature waterproof design.

It features a 5.2-inch Full HD smart adaptive display that runs on Sony's triluminous display for mobile with X-Reality that the company says will ensure sharper and more vivid colours.

The device is 6.9 mm in thickness and weighs 144 grams. It is dust-proof and comes without the magnetic charging pin. The phone will be available in black, white, copper and aqua green colours.

According to the company, the main camera has features like the 20.7MP with Exmor RS for mobile image sensor, Bionz for mobile processing engine and a 25 mm wide-angle G lens that will ensure good low-light photography and superior experience in the automatic mode.

The smartphone comes with all premium Sony features of audio, camera and other in-house apps like Playstation. The Xperia Z3 will be available across Sony centres, Xperia stores and major electronic outlets in India.
