Tihar jail conducts probe as two escape


New Delhi, June 29 (IANS): Tihar jail authorities have initiated a probe after two prisoners escaped, an official said on Monday.

"We have initiated a detailed inquiry under the guidance of superintendent of jail number 3 M.K. Dwivedi," Tihar Jail Deputy Inspector General Mukesh Prasad told IANS.

Faizan, 19, and Javed alias Rinku, 18, escaped from jail number seven at Tihar on June 27. Faizan was caught while Javed is still on the run.

Prasad said that the two were found missing during the evening roll call.
