A back up dancer of the recently released film ABCD2 has been arrested for allegedly raping a mentally challenged teenaged girl. The youth was arrested by the Pant Nagar police after the minor described a distinctive feature two broken front teeth of her rapist.
According to the police, the accused has been identified as Nilesh Nirbhavane (20), a dancer by profession. Nirbhavane recently appeared in the dance film ABCD2 as a back-up dancer, according to an investigating police official. Police said Nirbhavane and another accused would take the 14-year-old girl to public toilets or other isolated spots and rape her.

The child’s ordeal came to light when her teacher, noticing a change in her behaviour, sensed something amiss. Upon being gently questioned, the teen revealed the horror she had been going through. The teacher then informed the girl’s parents, who then approached the Pant Nagar police.
In the complaint registered with the police on June 25, the girl has alleged that she had been raped by three people since May. The survivor had named three persons as accused.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Vinay Kumar Rathod (Zone VII) said, “Initially, she had given the names of three accused. We took in one of them for inquiry, but investigations revealed he had no role to play in the incident.

However, the girl described Nirbhavane using a distinctive feature that he had two broken front teeth.” Based on this, cops later picked up Nirbhavane on June 26, and he confessed to the crime.
The accused have been booked under Sections 376D (gang rape), 377 (unnatural offences) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code, along with relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.
While Nirbhavane has been remanded to police custody till July 4, police are still on the hunt for the other accused in the case.
