BJP leads in Madhya Pradesh bypoll


Bhopal, June 30 (IANS): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Chander Singh Sisodia was on Tuesday leading by 4,352 votes against Congress' Subhash Sojatia in Madhya Pradesh's Garoth assembly constituency bypoll.

In the preliminary rounds of counting, Sisodia got 49,716 votes and Sojatia garnered 45,364.

Over 71 percent of voters had turned out for the polling on June, 27.

There would be 19 rounds of counting before the winner is declared.
