Puttur, May 7: Deputy chief minister B S Yediyurappa will be the next chief minister of the state, said BJP national president Rajnath Singh recently.

Speaking to the media here on Sunday May 6 during his visit Yediyurappa said that Rajnath Singh had conveyed the message to him as well as to JD (S) supremo in this regard.

As per the agreement between the coalition partners JD (S) and BJP, JD (S) supposed to handover the chief ministerial post to BJP later this year.  Accordingly there are wide speculations about who would be the next chief minister.  Though the present deputy CM is said to head the government, it is also true that JD (S) supremo Deve Gowda is against this.

Speaking to media Yediyurappa also said that discussions between JD (S) supremo Deve Gowda and himself had been successful but refused to give details of the same.

Yediyurappa was in the taluk to attend the wedding of MLC Shobha Karandlaje’s sister.

The coordination between the JD (S) and BJP is excellent; it is the Congress that is creating problems by spreading rumors, he said while speaking about the government. He further said that in the next week a coordination meeting would be held where petty differences between both the parties would be resolved.
