Cabinet approves schemes for farmers, youth

New Delhi, July 2 (IANS): The cabinet has approved the Prime Minister's Agriculture Irrigation Scheme as well as some skill development programmes for the youth who don't have a higher education degree, it was announced on Thursday.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley told the media that the cabinet approved the schemes at its meeting here on Wednesday.

The minister also hoped that bills pending in parliament will be cleared.

"I am hopeful that no party will take an anti-growth position," he said, adding that people who have been threatening to disrupt parliamentary proceedings are "relevant to TV channels only and not to the government".
