CBI grills Maran over phone lines scam


New Delhi, July 3 (IANS): The CBI on Friday interrogated former telecom minister Dayanidhi Maran for the third consecutive day over the installation of over 700 phone lines at his Chennai and Delhi residences.

"Maran reached CBI headquarters at scheduled time and our Special Task Force team began his questioning at 11 a.m.," a Central Bureau of Investigation officer told IANS.

The STF team is probing the installation of over 700 phone lines, including 323 high data capacity BSNL lines, used at his Boat House residence in Chennai and another residence in Delhi to benefit the Sun TV group, owned by his elder brother Kalanithi Maran.
