Kundapur, May 9: The new building of K G Jagannath Rao government high school at Koni near here was inaugurated on Tuesday May 8. State minister for medical education Dr V S Acharya inaugurated the new building.
In his inaugural address he said that about 300-400 high schools and 95 colleges will be started in the coming year and that Rs 6,000 crore has been kept aside for the purpose of education in the state budget. “All those schools which have not received any aid from the government from 2987 to 1997 will be provided with adequate government aid in the coming years,” he added.
Earlier Vishveshateertha Sripada Swamiji of Shree Pejawar Math visited the school on Tuesday.
The donors, construction committee president Koni Rajaram Hebbar were honoured on the occasion while talented students were given prizes. High school students were presented with school bags and uniform.
Koni Rajaram Hebbar welcomed the gathering while Prof G K Hebbar delivered the introductory note and Dinakar Shetty compered the programme.
