New railway coach facility goes on steam


Chennai, July 6 (IANS): Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu on Monday dedicated new stainless steel coach production facility at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) here, said an official.

He said Prabhu dedicated the facility through video conference from Delhi.

The Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) facility involved an outlay of around Rs.252 crore.

Prabhu also flagged off the 50,000th coach rolled out by ICF.

Last fiscal, ICF has achieved the best-ever production of 1,704 coaches surpassing prescribed target of 1,696 coaches.
