Visit will strengthen India-Uzbekistan ties: Modi


Tashkent, July 7 (IANS): Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said his visit to Uzbekistan would strengthen ties between the two nations.

"A memorable visit to Uzbekistan. It will strengthen India-Uzbekistan ties," Modi said in a tweet.

He added: "My gratitude to the people of Uzbekistan for the affection."

Modi on Tuesday spoke on people to people connect and cultural ties during an interaction with Indologists, Hindi students and the Indian community.

Uzbekistan was the first leg of Modi's eight-day tour to Central Asia and Ufa in Russia.
