Punjab minister commissions two solar power plants


Mansa (Punjab), July 8 (IANS): New and Renewable Energy Minister Bikram Singh Majithia on Wednesday inaugurated two solar power projects here.

The minister inaugurated 2.10 MW and 1 MW projects set up by Alianz Eco Power Ltd and Nextgen Solux Power Private Ltd at a cost of Rs.15.50 crore and Rs.8 crore respectively, an official statement said.

He said in the past three years solar power generation has touched 215 MW from 9 MW with an investment of more than Rs.1,500 crore.

The minister said 23 ground-mounted solar projects of 229 MW capacity with an investment of Rs.1,600 crore and four solar rooftop projects of 65 MW costing Rs.300 crore are under execution.
