Congress reiterates demand for Chouhan's resignation

New Delhi, Jul 9 (IANS): As the Supreme Court handed over the probe into the Vyapam scam to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the Congress on Thursday reiterated its demand for resignation of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

"The message from the Supreme Court is clear. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan must step down for a proper investigation," Congress leader Tom Vadakkan told the media here.

The apex court has handed over to the CBI the investigation into the criminal cases related to the Vyapam scam and over 40 deaths linked to it. The CBI will start its probe from Monday.

The Congress on Wednesday demanded two separate CBI probes into the deaths related to Vyapam as well as the scam.
