Ghaziabad authorities submit plan for Kaushambi after HC rap

Ghaziabad, July 10 (IANS): The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA), Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation and the district administration on Friday submitted an action plan for the development of Kaushambi before the Allahabad High Court.

Enraged by false promises of the officers, the Kaushambi Apartments Residents Welfare Association (KARWA) had filed a writ petition before the Hight Court on January 17, 2015 seeking to direct the local bodies to solve their 19 problems including sewage, drainage, power and potable water related problems.

According to KARWA president Vinay Mittal, during the hearings the officers of local bodies sent junior officers to represent them on three consecutive dates on January 29, February 13, and March 23.

On May 6, the High Court issued notices to the vice chairman of Ghaziabad Development Authority and municipal commissioner to be present in person before the court on July 7. They were asked to explain the complete road map and blue print for the development.

"The court asked them to explain the reasons of the apathy. After this, the officers started working on the blue print of the works to be done " Mittal said, adding that on July 7, both the officers appeared without any preparation.

"The court asked them whether they have any blue print for the development of this residential locality adjoining the national capital, the officers could not reply.

"The court adjourned the hearing and asked the officers to be present on July 10 with some solution. The court ordered the district magistrate also to be present with them with a complete action plan," he said.

"On July 10, the officers submitted a blue print before the court. And assured the court that they would remove encroachment within three weeks, electrification problems would be solved within one month, and sewage line would be strengthened within a month.

"If sewage pump is to be installed then it would need over a year but court turned down their submission and fixed a dead line for December 15, 2015, Mittal added.
