GoAir aircraft damaged by mishandling of aerobridge


Chennai, July 10 (IANS): Private airline GoAir flight G8-305 from Mumbai to Chennai was damaged on Friday morning when the aerobridge hit the aircraft, the airline said.

In a statement, GoAir said the aircraft was hit by the aerobridge at 6.35 a.m. The aircraft was stationary waiting for the aerobridge to be connected.

The aerobridge operator was unable to unable to safely align the aerobridge to the aircraft as he was too fast and lost control causing this unfortunate incident, GoAir said.

"Customers booked on the onward Chennai-Port Blair flight and those on other subsequent flights, have been re-accommodated on our flights tomorrow or on other airlines," the statement added.

As assessment of the damage is being done, following which further course of action shall be initiated, said the statement.
