Chandigarh, July 11 (IANS): Maximum temperatures across Haryana and in Chandigarh took a dip as rainfall lashed the region on Saturday.
The maximum temperatures dipped by up to 10 degrees below the average at some places, weather department officials said here.
Chandigarh, which has been lashed by moderate to heavy rain since Friday afternoon, recorded a high of 25.5 degrees, 10 degrees below average. The city recorded over 20 mm rain on Saturday. It had received over 35 mm rain on Friday.
Ambala and Hisar in Haryana recorded highs of 25.7 and 29.3 degrees, nine degrees below average.
Normal life, especially road traffic, was affected in Haryana, Chandigarh and parts of neighbouring Punjab on Saturday.
Weather officials said that more rainfall was expected in Haryana and Chandigarh in the next 48 hours.
In Punjab, Patiala received over 35 mm rain on Saturday.
The rainfall has brought cheers to the faces of farmers who had recently sown paddy crop in the two food grain states.
