Heavy rains continue to lash Delhi


New Delhi, July 12 (IANS): Heavy rainfall continued to lash Delhi and its surrounding areas on Sunday, disrupting normal life and traffic as many of the roads were flooded.

The national capital received 68.6 mm of rainfall till 8.30 a.m. on Sunday, the India Meteorological Department said. It has forecast more rains in the day.

"The sky will be cloudy with intermittent rain at many places and heavy rains/thundershower at a few places in the next two days," said an official.

The minimum temperature settled four notches below the season's average at 23 degrees Celsius.

Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was recorded at 98 percent.

The day's maximum temperature is likely to hover around 26 degrees Celsius.

Saturday's maximum temperature was recorded at 27.9 degrees Celsius, seven notches below the season's average, while the minimum settled four notches below the season's average at 23 degrees Celsius.
