Suth Korea, US to discuss wrong anthrax delivery

Seoul, July 13 (IANS): South Korea and the US will hold a meeting for a wrong delivery of anthrax samples to an American military base in Seoul.

The South Korean foreign ministry on Monday said the accidental delivery of the deadly samples will be discussed on Wednesday in the ministry's headquarters in central Seoul, Xinhua reported.

The Pentagon in May said a military laboratory in Utah sent live anthrax samples to over 20 laboratories in the US states, Australia and South Korea, including the Osan Air Base located some 50 km south of Seoul.

The meet will be headed by Shin Jae-hyun, director-general for the ministry's North American affairs and Terrence.J.O' Shaughnessy, vice commander of the US Forces Korea (USFK).

The two allies formed a joint working group to probe into the incident and work on measures to prevent the recurrence.
