Two policemen beaten up in Delhi, critical

New Delhi, July 13 (IANS): Two traffic constables were in critical condition after being beaten up by a mob here on Monday when they stopped two minors from riding a motorcycle, police said.

The incident occurred in Gokulpuri after the policemen -- identified as Head Constable Jai Bhagwan and Constable Manoj -- told the minors to show the driving licence.

According to police, the boys called up their family members -- and all of them suddenly pounced on the policemen and began to thrash them.

The violent attack, captured by a spectator, soon went viral on social media.

The video shows one of the policeman sprawled on the road while a group of men kick him from all sides. The other policeman is being slapped several times.

Police later arrested two suspects for the attack.
