Mangalore, May 15: “Wherever Hindus are residing in large numbers, there the developmental works have been fully neglected in Ullal constituency,” said B Nagaraj Shetty, district in-charge-minister of Dakshina Kannada.

He was speaking at the press conference organized near Uchil on Tuesday May 15 evening.

All the local leaders are visiting door-to-door in the constituency for the purpose of campaigning. “Former MLA, the late U T Fareed was a good man. But, in the last 7 years, taking advantage of his sickness, some others were ruling this constituency in his name,” he blamed.

Describing this election as ‘Dharma Yudha’, minister anticipated that, Chandrashekhar Uchil, the BJP candidate would win this by-election. At the same time, friendly fight will be between with JD (S), if it does not withdraw its candidate, he added.

He denied that, he had forced JD (S) leaders to field their candidate to divide the minority votes between Congress and JD (S).

Sushma Janardhan, ZP president, former MLA Jayaram Shetty, local BJP leaders Ravindra Maroli, Mohanraj, Satish Kumpala, Mayur Ullal and BJP candidate Chandrashekhar Uchil were present at the press conference.
