Jet Airways increases passenger carrying capacity


New Delhi, July 13 (IANS): Private airlines Jet Airways on Monday said it was increasing its passenger ferrying capability by adding 1,000 seats to its existing capacity of 63,500 seats.

The increased capacity will come into effect July 23 onwards and includes a ninth daily service between Mumbai and Chennai, a second service between Kolkata and Bengaluru and a fourth daily service connecting Mangaluru with Mumbai.

In a statement, the company said daily new flights connecting Bhopal and Indore with Lucknow via Delhi, Bhopal with Hyderabad via Mumbai and Hyderabad with Rajahmundry will also be rolled out.

"The additional frequencies have been introduced to cater to the growing demand on the high density routes and to ensure better connectivity between India's emerging cities," the company's chief commercial officer Raj Sivakumar said.
