Woman's hand cut off in MP for resisting advances


Satna (Madhya Pradesh), July 14 (IANS): A woman in Madhya Pradesh's Satna district was left critically injured when a man enraged at her resisting his advances attacked her with an axe, police said.

The woman suffered injuries in legs and hands. The man has been arrested, police added.

The 28-year-old Annpurna Lonia was grazing her goats when Ganesh Singh of Khajeh village tried to molest her. As she resisted him, he attacked her with an axe, dismembering her hand, she told police on Monday.

Satna district police official Sanjay Kumar told IANS that Ganesh Singh has been arrested.
