Delhi hospital to dispel myths on plastic surgery

New Delhi, July 14 (IANS): To dispel myths surrounding plastic surgery, a hospital in Delhi is organising a day-long exhibition on the occasion of National Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery Day on Wednesday.

About 500 school children, public, paramedical staff and doctors from other hospitals are expected to attend the event organised by Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.

The event will include lectures, interactive sessions and a poster gallery.

"The aim of these events is to familiarise and sensitise the public regarding various sub-specialties of plastic surgery and to clear various myths surrounding this super-specialty," said Mahesh Mangal, chairman of the department of plastic and cosmetic surgery at the hospital.

"Specially designed posters and lectures will help the public clear their doubts regarding various plastic surgical procedures," he said.
