CBI team probing Vyapam to soon get special office


Bhopal, July 15 (IANS): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team probing the Vyapam scam would soon get a special office here, sources said on Wednesday.

At the moment a 40-member CBI team is working at the agency's regional office. The team had on Tuesday met Madhya Pradesh Chief Secretary Anthony D'sa and Inspector General Surendra Singh and demanded for a separate office.

The team under supervision of CBI Joint Director R.P. Aggarwal initiated the probe into the Vyapam scam on Monday.

According to sources, the special task force (STF) investigating the scam has lodged 55 FIRs. More than 2,100 accused have been arrested, while 491 are still absconding.
