Himachal's Arki town gets 240 mm rain


Shimla, July 16 (IANS): The hills of Himachal Pradesh on Thursday again saw moderate to heavy rain and all major rivers and their tributaries were in spate. Arki town in Solan district recorded the highest rainfall at 240 mm, officials said.

There could be heavy rainfall in some places till Saturday, the Met department said.

There was 171 mm rain in Kangra, 122 mm in Nagrota Suriyan, 99 mm in Jabbarhatti, 90 mm in Sundernagar and 6.2 mm in Dharamsala.

State capital Shimla saw 32 mm rain.

A government spokesperson said the Satluj, Beas and Yamuna rivers and their tributaries were again in spate in Kinnaur, Shimla, Kullu, Mandi, Bilaspur and Sirmaur districts.
