Ex-Australian deputy PM launches 'boutique' beer


Sydney, July 17 (IANS): Former Australian deputy Prime Minister Anthony Albanese launched his Albo Corn Ale beer here on Friday which will be available in bottles and in selected hotels.

It is being made at an inner-Sydney micro-brewery and is regarded as "boutique" beer, Xinhua news agency reported.

Albanese, now the opposition's spokesman for infrastructure, transport and tourism, in recent months has also revealed an alter ego called DJ Albo who has recently performed at several functions.

Albanese was an major player in the power wars between former prime ministers Kevin Rudd and Julia Gillard.
