Chicago, May 19: The Mangalorean Konkan Christians Association has announced the celebration of “Konkan Fest – 2007” on July 07, 2007 at 5:00 p.m., at the Courtland Square Recreation Hall, 8909 David Place, Des Plaines, IL 60016. This program will consist of Singing Competition, Fancy Dress Competition and Food Competition.
Singing competition and Fancy Dress competition will consist of four age groups – 1-6 years; 7-11years; 12-17 years and 18 years and above. The Food competition will consists of following categories: Appetizers, Main dish items, and Desserts. Last day for submitting entries for all the competitions is June 30, 2007.

Inspired by grand success of the past year’s Konkan Fest and on popular demand to convene the same, we are here to present another Fest. All the Konkan lovers are invited to participate in this unique cultural extravaganza!
We have arranged the following competitions to present this grand cultural show:
· Singing competition for children and adults: Solo, Duet and Group
· Fancy dress competition for children and adults: Solo, Duet and Group
· Food Competition
The group categories for singing and fancy dress competitions are as follows:
- Children: (a) 0-6 yrs old
(b) 7-11 yrs old
(c) 12-17 yrs old
- Adults: 18 yrs and above.
In addition to above, there will be impromptu singing, skits and jokes.
Admission: Children - $12.00 and adults $18.00
