Ajman, UAE, May 27: The students from various leading schools in UAE participated in the first ever GMC Annual Medical & Science exhibition 2007 held at Gulf Medical College, Ajman on 23rd & 24th of May from 10:00a.m to 5:00p.m The two day event has attracted more than 3000 students from various schools to visit the exhibition. The exhibition included not only hand made models by the students of grade 10th, 11th & 12th but also poster & audio visual presentations. Along with the contest, the participants and visitors were given a chance to learn from exhibits displayed by various departments from MBBS & BPT programs in the form of specimens, cadavers, life like manikins and simulators.
The judgment was done by a panel of doctors and prizes were given by Prof. Mohammed Arifulla, Director New Programmes Development & Associate Dean HOD Pharmacology – GMCA, the Chief Guest Of the function in different categories like Models, Posters – Group, Poster – individual& Best Audio Visual. Our Own High School & Our Own Indian School shared the first prize in Model Category. Our Own Indian School, Al Quos were the winner in Poster – Group Effort & Sharjah American International School became the winner in Poster – Individual Effort. The Best Audio Visual winner was Our Own High School, Al Warqa.
The popularity of the event is evident from the fact that a number of reputed companies like Safeer mall, Dunkin donuts, Dreamland Water Park, Al Mutanabbi Bookshop, Jeanswest, Mr.Krisps, Body & Soul Health Club, and Blends & Brews Coffee Shop have sponsored this event.
Gulf Medical College, Ajman is recognized and approved as an institution for higher education by the ministry of education, UAE. GMCA is listed in world directory of Medical Schools by WHO and also listed in IMEd under the auspices of FAIMER. GMCA is offering MBBS degree programs with a capacity for 60 students & BPT Programs with a capacity for 25 students with limited seats for both boys & girls of all nationalities. Registration is now open at GMCA for MBBS & BPT programs for the batches of 2007 – 2008.
