Asus to launch three new smartphones

New Delhi, July 30 (IANS): Taiwanese handset maker Asus on Thursday said that it was going to launch three new smartphones along with other products at the "Zen Festival" to be held on August 6.

The three new smartphones are the ZenFone 2 Deluxe, ZenFone Selfie and the ZenFone laser.

"We are serious about the Indian market which is growing tougher day by day and that is why we want to do something different. We will showcase more products and share their prices at the Zen Festival," said Asus managing director Peter Chang.

The company is targetting the India market three-way -- at the selfie-crazy people, the lower price band and at the same time, trying to play a flagship killer.

The new Deluxe will not only have a 4GB RAM unit, which Asus was the first to introduce, but is also expected to be sleeker and will come with a crystal miracle design on the back panel. The ZenFone 2 Laser will come with a laser auto-focus and will be an upgrade over the first generation ZenFone.

The Selfie will be specifically dedicated for selfie lovers. Chang also announced major changes to the quirky Zen user interface to make the phone's battery last longer and provide a lag-free experience for users.
