Mangalore, May 30: It’s election time and as expected war of words between party members has reached a zenith.
KPCC president Mallikarjun Kharge, addressing a press meet here on Tuesday May 29, has alleged that the chief minister and his deputy have been indulging in making false promises at this point of the run up to the elections, thus violating the pole code of conduct.
Alleging that the coalition government has not implemented even 30 per cent of what it had promised in the budget, he said that BJP and JD(S) are now talking of undertaking development works which could have been done during their tenure.
He elaborated on the works undertaken by the Congress in Ullal and other coastal areas in the recent past and called upon the public to judge for themselves as to which party has benefited them.
He even expressed his party’s willingness in holding an open debate with BJP and JD(S) on development issues.
Former chief minister Dharam Singh and Congress party members were present.
