Urban Ladder unveils new app for home shoppers


Bengaluru, July 30 (IANS): Leading online furniture and home decor firm Urban Ladder on Thursday unveiled an app to helps users choose products that will suit their homes.

"Users can visualize their room(s) through our new app and buy furniture to their requirement and choose decor products of their choice," co-founder Rajiv Srivatsa told reporters here at a preview of the feature.

The app can be used to select products from the company's collection in background and flooring and see how they look together before buying them.

"Users will have option to buy all or specific items in the visual they create or choose from those of others who share their looks on our website for inspiration," Srivatsa said.

The app came after the company observed consumer behaviour and a shift in demand to room solutions from product solutions on its e-portal.

"The app was developed with a view to providing a simple solution to help home shoppers make their homes their way, by designing their own home," Srivatsa said.

The app's next version will help users see how products fit in their space, help them interact with other look creators and get recommendations while creating their looks.

Srivatsa, who is also the chief operating officer, co-founded the company in 2012 with Ashish Goel, who is chief executive, to offer a curated range of products across 35 categories spanning wardrobes, sofas, beds, dining tables and storage shelves.

The city-based start-up delivers about 4,000 products in 12 cities across the country, including Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi/NCR, Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad, Kochi, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Surat, Kolkata and Mangaluru.
