Mangalore, May 31: Former chief minister M Veerappa Moily flayed chief minisiter H D Kumaraswamy for stating that Dakshina Kannada district was prone to violence.
Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday May 30 he said that the CM should not give any statement without knowing the facts. This would only spoil the image of the region, which in turn would slow down development and investment activities.
The violence in the district is less when compared to the number of political murders in the CM’s home district Hassan, he said opposing Kumaraswamy’s statement. He further said that while making such statements one should think about the consequences.
He also flayed deputy chief minister Yediyurappa’s statement about religious institutes deserting the Congress over the issue of funds and alleged that Yediyurappa should bring know that Congress never objected the allotment of grants to religious institutes, and it was Congress government that introduced several schemes for their development.
He further raised questions about Rs 100 crore grants by BJP leader Ananth Kumar when he was the union minister and said that the religious institutes are aware as to who has distributed grants to them.
