Bajaj Auto's July sales up three percent


New Delhi, Aug 3 (IANS): Two-and three-wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto on Monday reported an increase of three percent in its monthly sales for July.

The company managed to sell 330,231 units of two-and three-wheelers during the period under review from 319,292 units sold in the corresponding month of last year.

According to the company, its motorcycle sales during the month under review grew by five percent at 282,433 units from an off-take of 267,841 units during July, 2014.

However, the automobile manufacturer's commercial vehicle sales were down by seven percent at 47,798 units from 51,451 units sold in the like period of 2014.

The company's exports during last month declined by three percent at 164,690 units being sold abroad from 169,755 units shipped-out in the corresponding period of last year.

On the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) the company's scrip was down by 0.64 percent at Rs.2,503 per equity share (12.15 p.m.) on Monday from its previous close of Rs.2,519.15 per equity share.
