Mumbai, Aug 3: “Transformation is a form of translation. The glossary is a tool of translation. Translators should be careful about grammar and should be experts in retaining the beauty of the language. There should be no short forms in scientific translations," said senior author, scientist and researcher in the country Dr Vyasaraya Ninjooru.










He was speaking at a programme on literary translations held by the Kannada department of the Mumbai University and Kannadiga journalists association Maharashtra at J P Nayak hall at Kalina Vidyanagari,
Santacruz east on Saturday August 1.

The programme was conducted in the presence of Mumbai University Kannada department head Dr G N Upadhya. Senior littérateur Dr Jeevi Kulkarni, Kannadiga journalists association Maharastra president
Chandrashekar Palethady and academy award winning translator Shamala Madhav were present as resource persons.

Karnataka state media academy award winner Rons Bantwal, Dr Poornima S Shetty, sports talent Surekha Devadiga and Deepa Prabhu were honored on behalf of Mumbai University on the occasion.

Journalists association vice president Daya Sagar Chowta, secretary Harish K Hejmady, working committee member Babu K Belchada, Gurudatt S Poonja Mundkooru, special invitee member advocate Vasanth S Kalakote, advisor Dr Sunitha M Shetty, members Ashok S Suvarna, Rathnakar R Shetty, Nithyananda D Kotian, Sathish N Bangera, Babu Shiva Poojary, Harish G Poojary, Thonse Sanjiva Poojary and others were present on the occasion.

Journalists association honorary chief secretary Rons Bantwal welcomed the gathering. Kannada department research assistant Dr Poornima S Shetty compered the programme and introduced the guests. Comedian Shamala Prakash sang a welcome song and proposed the vote of thanks.
