Monsanto India's Q1 net profit dips 11.6 percent

Mumbai, Aug 3 (IANS): Monsanto India Ltd on Monday posted a decline of 11.6 percent in its net profit at Rs.62.79 crore for the first quarter of the current fiscal year as against Rs.71.02 crore in the same period last year.

Increased expenditure in face of a flat revenue accounted for the decrease in its profit margin.

The firm's net revenue in the three months under review remained flat at Rs.263.3 crore as against Rs.264.8 crore in the corresponding timeframe last fiscal year.

On the other hand, its expenditure surged by a whopping 85.4 percent at Rs.194.2 crore in the review period against Rs.104.7 crore incurred in the year-ago period.
