Mangaluru: Woman stabbed by youth in broad daylight at Kulai

Mangaluru, Aug 4: A woman was stabbed in by a youth in broad daylight at Kulai here on Tuesday August 4.

Soumya (32), a resident of Katipalla, who works in Makrana Marble Centre, was seriously injured after the youth stabbed her.

Sources said that the accused has been identified as Azeem hailing from a north Indian state, and it is learnt that he was working in the same firm earlier and is currently unemployed.

Police sources said that Soumya had just alighted from the bus and was walking towards her workplace when the accused came at her and stabbed her with a blade on her neck and face.

The accused fled from the spot before anyone coud catch him, sources said.

Soumya was rushed to a private hospital.

Suratkal police are investigating.

    Going through of the comments in your Daijiworld feel sorry for the people suggesting to eliminate people of Northern origin ,Let me say that every Indian citizen has the right to stay and practice their business any where in India.But u have option to reduce their population by not eating any north Indian foods such as Panipuri,Bhel puri Ragda Pattice stop wearing Salwar Kamis building nay new building. The labor force of coastal are are in Gulf.So we depending on labor force from north India.

    Its not question of being a north Indian or a south Indian, first and foremost Indian women/girls are only interested in learning dance and all other stuffs, but very few of them are interested in learning martial arts, in this sad incident, this women would had easily defended herself if she had learned few techniques. When we try to promote martial arts in educational institutions people just ignore us and this is what happens.

    It is really sad to know this incident. It is true that lots of North Indian labour taking advantage of our South Indian soft nature & irresponsibility of legal system.

    It is better to keep an eye on this people.

    By the way who is this Peter Lewis, Kalmady/k s a & Jossey Saldanha, Mumbai, are this people are serious of what they are writing or crazy? ..

    This incident is a serious matter, but looks this guys have no responsibilities.

    The motive for this crime is not yet known. Whatever it is this kind of stabbing cases are on the increase.

    It is a question of time before the culprit is apprehended. Hope the police will deal with the criminal suitably and suitably punished by The Court.

    so the contractors and businessmen around mangaluru are forced to rely on these north indian labourers. compared to costing also they charge bit less.

    anyways the above case looks like personal rivalry or triangular love story.. lets wait for further details.. mangaluru police can crack down this mystery too..

    Let our people get some job. Don't allow any North Indian day labour in mangalore. If all in our city are employed then we can allow them to work..

    The employer has to pay little more for the employees in Mangalore. The living cost in mangalore is too high compared to other cities in the country.
    There are few companies in mangalore having 90% manpower from outside mangalore or Karnataka.

    Let the local authorities identify them and demand them to give job to Manglurians. This is possible.

    Looks like he wanted to settle personal score with her. First time ever, I am coming across a lady is being stabbed in public. Mangalore is flooded with notorious labor class (rouges, criminals) from north or East Indian states. Kudla is not the same as of yester years peaceful place. Gone are the happy days.
