Two Special Olympics athletes found after disappearing

Los Angeles, Aug 4 (IANS): Two missing Special Olympics athletes, Sihon Ange Ismael Kone, 15, and Andi Gusmari, 44, were found miles away from here.

Isimel from Cote d'Ivoire was found lying in the grass in front of an Inglewood house five miles away on Monday, hours after Gusmari, who disappeared from the Games, turning up safe in a community on the east side of the San Francisco Bay, reports Xinhua.

Isimel was last seen around 6 a.m. walking out of a terminal, airport police spokesman Rob Pedregon said before being found. The teen was tired, but healthy and in good spirits and was reunited with a member of his delegation who stayed behind after he went missing.

Gusmari, a bowling competitor, came to the Hayward Police Department on his own around 2 a.m. He apparently took a bus to Northern California, said Jeff Carr, chief operating officer of the Special Olympics World Games Organising Committee. A Special Olympics staff member was sent to help Gusmari get back here and then to Albania.
