Mangalore, Jun 6: At a press conference organized here at the Press Club on Wednesday June 6 the newly-elected MLA of Ullal U T Khader thanked his party members and leaders for working day-in-and-day-out during the entire election process.

He in particular mentioned about the contributions of Sonia Gandhi, Veerappa Moily, Siddaramaiah and Dharam Singh and also thanked the residents of Ullal for having voted him as the MLA.

He said that the results of the election clearly showed that the residents of Ullal had no inclination to vote on religious lines. He said that he would ensure that they work to the objectives that they had come up with, and to the benefit of the people. He also added that the victory of Congress was commendable because many of the residents could not vote because of absence of voters’ ID and this constituted many members of the minority community. When asked if they were expecting to win by this margin of votes, he replied that they were expecting much more.

The others present at the press conference included B K Sunder, Vishwas, Umar Farooq, Sharif, Vinay Raj and Bondala Jagannath Shetty.
